BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WWAY) -- A Bladen County woman is in jail charged with shooting her boyfriend with a shotgun.

Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call at 2355 Natmore Road in Kelly just before 8 p.m. Sunday. On their way they got a second call that someone had been shot at the home.

Deputies and EMS found Michael Clancey Todd shot in the back and neck. Clancey was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center with what appeared to be non life-threatening injuries. He is out of the hospital.

Clancey told deputies that he was trying to leave for the night when his girlfriend, Deborah McLamb Strickland, 53, came out of the home with a shotgun. When Clancey began running, he says Strickland shot him.

Deputies arrested Strickland this afternoon at her home. She is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious bodily injury. She is in the Bladen County Jail under no bond.
