The Giver Shirt lets customers target donations to charities of choice

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) -- You've seen it before, the business of giving. It's a simple concept: the consumer buys a product, the company donates a portion of the purchase to a good cause. But The Giver Shirt is different.

"Regardless of what it is, if you have a heart for it, there's a good chance you can support it," said founder David Yearwood.

Unlike other companies that use the giving business model, The Giver Shirt donates 60 percent of the total profit to one of fifteen different charities of your choice. Yearwood says this allows for a personal touch.

The Wounded Warrior Project, Young Life, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation are just a few of the charities that you can choose from when you buy a giver shirt.

Yearwood says this is a quick and easy way to help charities that are already in place working to change the world.

"I think we all have the urge to help somebody," said Yearwood. "We all have the want to give. We all have the desire to do something great. I don't have to be the one out on the front line but I can help someone dig a well just by buying a t-shirt."
