Demon Deacons could get Skinner back for Maryland game

Story body

WINSTON-SALEM (AP) -- Wake Forest may get back one of the heroes of last year's surprise Atlantic Coast Conference title run just in time for a key stretch of league games.

Quarterback Riley Skinner is back at practice after missing two games with a separated right shoulder. Coach Jim Grobe says he could be ready to play in time for this weekend's game against Maryland, though it could be a gametime decision.

Redshirt sophomore Brett Hodges has filled in ever since Skinner's injury against Boston College. Skinner is listed as probable on the team's injury report.

His possible return comes as the Demon Deacons prepare for a stretch that includes Maryland, Duke and Florida State.
