Ha! Let's see who is the ignorant one? Guest 7969 pointed out a very large error in the story referring to the dog as being "cannabalized" by the criminal. It is impossible for a dog to be cannabalized by a human being! No matter how you describe little "Fifi" as your "child" or your "granddog", Fifi is still a DOG, not a human. The question is not whether the dog is an officer, the question is the use of the word "cannabalize".
