If a Chaplain is a Christian and he is told to leave Christ out his prayers, then who is he praying to? Prayer is not empty speak. It is a conversation with God. To ask a Chaplain to leave out Jesus and pray a blanket prayer is essentially asking him to violate his beliefs. People should not be afraid to offend those who don't share their religious beliefs. The 1st Amendment protects his right to pray to his God as much as it protects non believers right to not believe. It is my humble opinion they are walking down a very shaky road. Perhaps they should reconsider.
