Students at Bradley Creek Elementary School have received a special gift from a local company. Progress Energy donated $30,000 to a Chamber of Commerce program that gives money to teacher scholarships. This year's recipient was Ann Lineberry, physical education teacher at Bradley Creek Elementary. Even though she teaches physical education she has developed a program where kids can learn about fossils. Third-grader Dylan Mintz said, "Ms. Lineberry sets up the fossil presentation every year, and I enjoy it. She shows clips and fossils that she finds." Progress Energy's teacher scholarships provide money to teachers in New Hanover and Pender Counties who are working on their master's degrees. The money is used to implement innovative classroom projects.
