From the way I understand this is now the ones that do not have healthcare will be required to buy it, and if they don't they will be taxed. They said there will be a box on your income tax form that asks: "yes" I have insurance, or "no" I don't have insurance. If you check "no" you will be taxed either as a single unit or as a family unit. At least that amount will come out of the refund you now get to help pay for your coverage so the rest of us don't have to foot the entire bill. They can't FORCE you to buy it but they CAN tax you if you don't.
