BOLIVIA, NC (WWAY) -- A Brunswick County man will spend at least two years in prison after pleading guilty to a 2009 drive-by shooting.

The District Attorney's Office says Jaquan Lamont Holland, 24, of Bolivia, pleaded guilty this week to two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and one count of discharge of a weapon into an occupied vehicle.

Prosecutors say Holland used a .22 rifle to shoot from his vehicle into a vehicle occupied by Anthony Lloyd Johnson, Jr. and Bradley Williams. Investigators say Holland was upset because he believed Williams had been talking to his girlfriend, Brittany Smith.

Williams suffered minor injuries to his face from shattered glass. Johnson was hit in the face by a rifle shell. He was treated and released from the hospital the same day.

As a result of his plea, Holland was sentenced to 24-38 months in prison and ordered to pay restitution for the victims' medical bills.

Holland's current prison sentence will run after another 2-3 year sentence he is already serving for the attempted armed robbery of the Dollar General Store in Shallotte in 2010. Holland also still has pending charges in Brunswick County for statutory rape, which are scheduled to be tried later this year.
