Man arrested after he reportedly 'flipped out,' attacked cop

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- A man is in jail after witnesses and police say he "flipped out," abandoned his young sister and allegedly attacked a Wilmington Police officer.

Wilmington Police say they were called to 1525 S 11th St. Monday, where witnesses told police Timothy Tyre Miller, 20, had "flipped out" and began destroying property before leaving the home and leaving his seven-year-old sister behind.

Officers walked the girl to her home a few doors down the street. When they got there, they say an irate Miller walked out of the house and began yelling and cursing at the officer. Miller then tried to physically confront the officer, who was forced to deploy his Electronic Control Device to subdue him.

Police arrested Miller and took him to the hospital, where they found he had taken PCP and marijuana, also known as "Love Boat." Investigators say Miller also had crack cocaine on him when he was arrested.

Miller is in the New Hanover County Jail under $10,000 bond on charges of assault on a law enforcement officer and possession of schedule II.
