Wrightsville Beach should eat the taxes on that land in exchange for keeping that access open. They (W.B.) should also release the Murchison's from any liability should anyone get hurt on it. Aren't the Murchison's the same folks that complained about hearing music coming from the Blockade Runner outside patio and stopped it? People that can afford to live on the ocean assume that access to it is just for them to enjoy.
