I don't understand nephew, Jeremiah Goodson is dead, shot MULTIPLE times doing his job even while off duty and the back up he called (following proper procedure) allowed him to be shot 5-7 times and did not react? Baffled! I served as a Soldier in Iraq and Afghanistan and we trained constantly and consistently for the most dangerous scenarios and training always drove our reactions. You can't convince me that officers of the law haven't receive training on this scenario. I'm at a loss for words. I don't like to speculate, but I also heard from family members who I'll keep anonymous that if it was for a third officer who was off duty who heard the gunshots and ran toward them, the suspect, sorry, I meant murderer would have gotten away. What has society come to when a police officer is brutally slain in the midst of another officer and while the shooter goes to jail and gets to live for the next 10 to 20 years in prison before being executed. My nephew leaves behind a wife, a daughter, and a daughter who is due withing the week, who will never know her father! My nephew died honorably, but some and I stress some, not all, around him did not act honorably. I pray that the suspect comes to know Christ as his Savior, but in the same token, I hope he gets the death penalty and executed quickly, instead of wasting tax payers dollars to feed and house him (not to mention the money due process costs) for the next 20 years.
