Officer should not have been involved in this type of arrest while off duty. I am sure he did not have on a vest and duty belt and was most likely out of uniform. He should have called in and maybe followed suspect but should have left the rest to uniformed on duty officers. Lots of stories lately all over the country about off duty cops getting killed. Maybe a different story if someone was in danger but that does not sound like the case.
