at the NC Secretary of State's invitation?
When you look at where various members of the NC Council of State traveled in 2011, our Secretary of State traveled to Moldova. On the state dime by the way.
As reported in The World Factbook, a publication of the CIA:
"...Moldova remains one of the poorest countries in Europe despite recent progress from its small economic base. It enjoys a favorable climate and good farmland but has no major mineral deposits. As a result, the economy depends heavily on agriculture..."
"...Economic reforms have been slow because of corruption and strong political forces backing government controls..."
What are they taking back with them?
A knowledge of programs like Meals on Wheels and Habitat for Humanity.
The IMF keeps this country afloat. With the economic crisis in Europe, are they looking within our country for new sources of funds to maintain their country? They're in for a shock when they see how bare our cabinets are.
Were they here
