The churches didn't vote - the citizens of North Carolina did. I didn't like the results, they came as no surprise, but I am not so ignorant as to think people voting their conscience in any way chips away at the separation of church and state.
Indeed, my money says that people voting their conscience, rather than some liberal agenda checklist, is what TRULY offends these people.
