Sheriff's deputies search for armed robbery suspect


WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- The New Hanover County Sheriff's Office is looking for help finding a man who robbed a Papa John's employee at a bank early Friday morning.

Investigators say around 1:50 a.m. Friday the man robbed the Papa John's worker at knife point and took the business's night deposit. It happened in the parking lot of the Sun Trust Bank at 7018 Market Street.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 20s, approximately 5'10" tall and 140-150 lbs. He was wearing a black hooded jacket and black pants.

After taking an undisclosed amount of money from the victim, the suspect left on foot through the parking lot behind the bank and into woods.
