Hurricanes continue run for NHL playoffs against Rangers

RALEIGH (AP) -- The Carolina Hurricanes are going for their fourth win in their last five games tonight as they face the New York Rangers at the RBC Center in Raleigh.

It's a game the Hurricanes need as they pursue a playoff spot.

After tonight's game, Carolina will face the Montreal Canadiens and the Atlanta Thrashers. Carolina's 65 points are one better than Montreal, and four behind the Southeast Division leading Thrashers.

The 65 points are good enough for the seventh spot in the eight-team playoff standings.
