Romney, Biden heading to NC on successive days

RALEIGH, NC (AP) -- The presidential campaign will build steam in North Carolina with scheduled appearances by presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney and Vice President Joe Biden.

Romney's campaign confirmed Wednesday the former Massachusetts governor will make stops Sunday on a bus tour in Mooresville, High Point and Morrisville. Romney visited Charlotte a couple of weeks before the May primary, and his wife, Ann, stumped for him in Greensboro last month.

President Obama's campaign also said that Biden will visit North Carolina on Monday, but didn't immediately give details about where or when. Biden has made several visits to North Carolina as vice president, most recently in Winston-Salem.

North Carolina is considered a battleground state for the presidency. Obama won North Carolina's electoral votes in 2008 by a slim margin.
