I have been driving for over forty years, in much bigger cities than Wilmington. I was never hit by a distracted driver! I've been rear ended three times in Wilmington; all three drivers were flying and twice I was driving a brand new car!
Nothing really happened to the people who hit me, not even a ticket! I have to watch the back through the rear view mirror more than the front, very nerve racking and its no fun at all to drive here!! I hope people will learn how to alternate letting people into traffic, allow others to make left turns without trying to run them over by stomping on the gas, pay attention to the traffic around them. Driving is a collaborative endeavor or should be. When it is, traffic flows smoother and people are safer. New patterns to learn are popping up, circles and four way stops both require attention, following directions and collaboration-good luck!!
