The Town of Leland cannot put the past behind them until they openly admit to all of their wrongdoings and to the mistreatment of other staff members. Brenda Bozeman made a comment not that long ago that the town had grown up but apparently this is not true. To grow up means to accept full responsibility not just put things out there to try to make it appear that you have cleaned house. If they want to move on then they must clean their own house and deal with the everything they have done behind closed doors and quit pretending they had no knowledge of it.{This goes for those who are no longer there but had a controlling hand in every aspect of what was done}. Instead of hoping it will all go away and praying that any other cases that may have been filed will not go through, they should take the lead and deal with it. But what do they do, they hide behind their attorneys, allow these staff member’s reputations to be ruined, pray that something will get dropped on a technicality and look forward to being able to have a sigh of relief. But it will all be ok. No one will ever forget. Even if they squeak by legally they cannot squeak by ethically. Something that every current town employee should keep in mind is that if it happened to others it can happen to you. Something that the public needs to think about is if they treat their own in the inside this way how will they treat you who are on the outside.
