WHITEVILLE,NC (WWAY) - The Whiteville High School state champion baseball team will receive their 2012 2-A state champion rings at halftime of the Whiteville-West Columbus football game on Friday, August 24. Coach Brett Harwood's squad beat Randleman 2-0 in the best of three championship series. It's the fifth state title for Whiteville in baseball in the history of the school. Coincidentally, Whiteville is the location of a father-son matchup on Friday. Mark Little is the head coach of West Columbus High School. His son, Luke, is the head coach at Whiteville High School.
