Their data may not be perfect, but it does accurately point out that the species went into decline after overfishing. Chef Paul Prudhomme created a dish called "Blackened Redfish" which became a national craze. Unfortunately, too many were harvested since the 1980's, creating a decline in their population.
Stop your griping and give 'em some time to repopulate. Surprised you're not complaining about the lack of any good white rhino horn lately.
