CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) -- Water customers in Carolina Beach are advised to boil their water after a water main break last night. It happened in the 900 block of Tarboro Avenue and Dow Road.
The town says customers are experiencing periods of low pressure and outages. That can increases the potential for back siphonage and introduction of bacteria into the water system.
Vigorous boiling for one minute should kill any disease-causing organisms that may be in the water. The town's Public Works Department also urges customers to conserve water whenever possible. The advisory remains in effect until further notification is issued.
