Doesn't his book also say "“In the Torah We prescribed for them a life for a life, an eye for an eye", Qurʾān 5:45.
The Qurʾān is interpreted in too many ways, the same as the Bible. The difference is that the Christian world stopped killing over its words (don't confuse politics) so long ago, yet Islamists uses its words to justify atrocities today.
Pacifism is a little late now it seems, but it sure sounds nice after the fact.
