Rangers 4, Hurricanes 1

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) _ Karel Rachunek and Michael Nylander each had a goal and assist and the New York Rangers defeated the Carolina Hurricanes 4-to-1 Thursday night.

The Rangers scored three times on the power play. Andrew Ladd scored for the Hurricanes.

Carolina lost All-Star winger Justin Williams midway through the second period with what the team called an upper-body injury.

Defenseman Bret Hedican also left the game with a concussion. Carolina played without injured forwards Cory Stillman and Erik Cole.

It was New York's first win at Carolina since December 31, 2002.
