STORMTRACK 3: Tornado Watches/warnings issued Tuesday

SOUTHEASTERN NC (WWAY) -- A powerful storm system prompted Tornado Watches from North Carolina to New York Tuesday. A Tornado Warning was issued for northern Sampson County about 3:20 PM, but no major damage or injuries were reported. A few downed trees were reported in Bladen County near Kelly, and funnel clouds were reported across Robeson County.

Cooler air will arrive behind the storm system on Wednesday. Although a few lingering showers are possible for part of the day, widespread severe weather is not expected in southeastern North Carolina.
