Our family met Ivey in Church. We new him as a vocalist, a musician and a person very committed to family and church. Much later we learned that "Ivey could draw" (understatement). Who new, that he was a diamond in the rough that would soon reveal his true artistry. What I remember most about Ivey the person, was his incredible smile. It would brighten anyone's day, his laughter could easily overshadow the blues, and his humble demeanor was so authentic. The vibrant color in his art work was mesmerizing, but what I will miss the most is Ivey the man.
