American Red Cross should stay out of the mail

Most veterans have no use for the American Red Cross. They need to stay out of the Holiday mail for GIs. The Red Cross is the only organization that has the athority to send a message to varify an emergency has happend at home.
While stationed in Korea in 1979 my grandmother died and I recieved a message from the American Red Cross the day before she was getting buried. I asked why it took so long to get and was told she wasn't immidiate family and a priority message costs too much. I arrived home after she was buried. I have no use for an organization that abuses their power.
