Barfield dismisses Melissa Gott as commissioner candidate despite GOP backing

Last week New Hanover County Commissioners ran into a roadblock in deciding whether to pick up Melissa Gott to act as their temporary fifth board member. Because of confusion over Gott's residency, commissioners decided to wait. But now, Chairman Jonathan Barfield says Gott has got to go.
