This is so ridiculous!
1) The DOT should have instructed the contractor what to put on the sign.
2) The contractor should drive down to fix the sign, that's part of his/her job and its their fault that nobody locally was given the authority to reprogram them.
Finally, do we not own the large overhead sign on 74/76 coming into Wilmington? I realize that doesn't help all drivers, but it will at least alert some. Last time I came into town when the bridge was closed this sign wasn't being used to alert drivers. What good is a nice big sign if it's not being used??
We're not worth a 7 hour trip?
