No they weren't.
The last weekend closure was to do one side of the lift and this weekend they finish the other side's cables. Apparently it's a pretty intense project that requires interaction with several federal agencies to include the Coast Guard to insure that no river traffic requiring the raising of the bridge is scheduled for this time.
We all know bridges deteriorate over time and the CF Memorial has been carrying more than its "designed share" of traffic volume over the years. We are in desperate need of an ADDITIONAL, larger crossing. Once THAT's built DOT would need to take a look at the CF to see if it needs structural re-enforcement so that it's life can be extended.
Otherwise we'll be looking at replacing the CF shortly after we build the newest bridge.
