Everyone in North Carolina should be in mourning for one of the finest gentlemen ever to have lived in our state.
Scholar, Veteran, Academician, True Southern Gentleman, Architech of UNC university system, proponet of the less fortunate a member of the "Greatest Generation": any of these titles would have served him well.
We will miss him and not see that kind of person again.
