Poor Uncle, you are so naive. I graduated from Hanover in 01 and I can remember going to school and seeing guns and knives. And with the increase in gang violence in this city, which the city counsel wants to turn a blind eye to, has increased 10 fold since my school days. If Wilmington doesn't get a hold on it's gang violence problem soon it's going to be too late to do anything at all. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a Hanover student that killed that man last week, and yesterday's lockdown was the result of the rival gang wanting revenge on the killer. Sad as it is, it's past time to put metal detectors in the schools and enforcing uniforms. I fear for my future children and their school careers. I can only hope and pray that they do not get caught up in gangs.
