'Iron Man 3' trailer debuts Tuesday, sneak peak available now

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- The first peak of "Iron Man 3" is now available, and more is coming Tuesday.

The movie's Facebook page has been asking fans to "Like" it with the promise that when enough people did, Marvel would release a trailer for the movie shot in and around Wilmington. With the threshold met, the production posted a teaser trailer on the Facebook page today promoting the Tuesday release of the full trailer.

The teaser starts with Tony Stark, played by Robert Downey Jr., walking out of what we in Wilmington know is New Hanover Regional Medical Center and into a throng of media outside. Near the end of the 15-second clip is a quick glimpse of what appears to be the stunt scene shot this summer along the Cape Fear River downtown in which several stunt performers were suspended for a special rig hung from a crane and dropped into the river.

"Iron Man 3" is set to hit theaters May 3, 2013. The Los Angeles Times reported last week that the movie will also be released in 3-D.
