Snow's Cut Bridge work delayed until Monday

CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) -- Repairs that will close two lanes of Snow's Cut Bridge over the Intracoastal Waterway for months won't start until Monday.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation says the work will force the traffic on the bridge to and from Pleasure Island into one lane in each direction. The lane restrictions, which are expected to run into February, will shift sides of the bridge depending on the work schedule.

Cones and other traffic-control devices will be in place to direct motorists using the bridge. The lane closures will remain in place during the entire construction period.

One lane on Snow's Cut Bridge was closed today as crews continued another project that's been going on for a couple of weeks.
