I lived in Wilmington from 1970 until 2003 and since 2003, I have lived across the river in Brunswick County. Throughout every storm that has come through here during that time, I find that WWAY is the most reliable source of information when it comes to the tropical systems coming through. When Hurricane Bonnie came in 1998 The Weather Channel and the other local stations kept talking about how it was going to miss us. Kim Downing and Jerry Jackson were the only ones talking about the storm turning and hitting us. What did Bonnie do? She turned and hit us. Ever since then, I watch what Jerry and the others at WWAY say about these storms. They are the most accurate and for any of you to say otherwise is pure poppycock.
