Woman arrested in $94k heroin, meth bust

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- New Hanover County Sheriff's narcotics detectives seized more than 20 ounces of black tar heroin and more than 100 grams of methamphetamine. The drugs have a combined street value of more than $94,000.

Nancy Barrientos, 30, faces multiple felony drug charges.

"This is the largest amount of black tar heroin I've seen in my career as a narcotics investigator" Capt. David Ciamillo said in a news release. "Add the seizure of more than 100 grams of methamphetamine, and the result is a successful joint investigation that led to the arrest of a major drug trafficker and the seizure of an awful lot of dangerous narcotics."

The investigation, which started back in August, was a joint effort between the Sheriff's Office and Jacksonville Police.
