Baseball is a dying sport and it would be foolish to waste taxpayer money putting a stadium downtown. Simply put the "old, local money crowd"are the only people that want the stadium and they are using their vast influence to force everyone into paying for it. If they want it so bad, why don't they dig into their bank accounts and fund it instead of asking everyone else to do so.
