Great Article, thanks for sharing. I have been by the Diamond in Richmond many times, and it's a big hulk of concrete and steel, empty and void of the Braves. Years ago the Braves started making demands about the Diamond, and the City of Richmond government frankly said "no". So the Braves picked up and moved to the next gullible town, costing them $64m with nothing really in return.
These people that are having happy hour as a statement of "yes" (what, 20 of them?) will not fill this stadium. Neither will the beer. Neither, sadly, will the Braves. So instead of happy hour, these same people may belly up to the bar in regret once they see what they have been chained to and how it pulls from their pockets.
The stadium is one big fat losing proposition.
