Wrightsville Beach Merchants Association holding public forum Monday night

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH -- The Wrightsville Beach Merchants Association is holding a public forum Monday night so residents can get a chance to hear from all seven alderman candidates. The forum will address issues such as the closure of a public beach access, storm water runoff, public bus access, and rezoning. All seven candidates will be at the forum and you will be able to sign up to ask questions. Forum organizers say all New Hanover County residents may want to consider attending. John Andrews with the Wrightsville Beach Merchants Association said, "We just hope that folks will come out and listen to it, not just beach folks but residents from the county. This is your beach and you should be wanting to have people who are good stewards of it." The forum starts Monday night at six o'clock at Savannah's Restaurant off Causeway Drive. Mayoral candidate Stephen Whalen is running unopposed but will also take part in the forum.
