that figure only tally's how much the variable portion of the bill has gone up. If you look at the base-line fee (the one you pay regardless of how much water you use), you'll see that has gone up as well. If you calculate how much you are being billed for vs. how much you actually use (what I've always done), you'll see that you're water bill has gone up at least %350. In 2008, I calculated a cost of 0.82 cents/gallon, in 2010 I calculated a cost of 2.8 cents/gallon. I moved into an apartment at that point so it could even be more.
