I can't believe the city ever let them build that gas station right on the corner of a major corridor/intersection, with no traffic signals in or out. The only (1) entrance in/out of the Scotchman is a terrible design. When you turn left out of the gas station into the turn lane, you have to make sure people coming south on 421 aren't also trying to turn into the turn lane to go over the bridge. You could have someone who tries getting in the turn lane at the same time and then you are stuck in on-coming north-bound traffic. I was recently involved in an accident much like this one at this same exact location. I have also witnessed 3 other major accidents at this same location in the past few months. Someone is going to get seriously injured or killed here if not already. I moved to Wilmington a year and half ago, and my biggest complaint is the traffic and road system in place. I have never seen such poorly designed road systems.
