I have emailed Laura Padgett and asked for two things:
1 - according to the minutes of council meetings 2 appropriations were made totaling about $478,500.
To date, news reports indicate $291,000 of costs have been incurred. I asked how we would know when the $187,500 would be returned to the general fund.
Her response was that she had asked for an accounting at the last meeting. She DID however CC Sterling Cheatham on the response. We will see what happens with that.
I then asked that the MOU be cancelled so as to allow for other entities to approach government at any level in this area. She said she had received numerous requests for that and that it sounded reasonable.
Typical political BS. I hope she acts on it
