WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- The more than 150-year-old Bellamy Mansion is becoming greener. Using old technology from when the mansion was first built, an irrigation company is reactivating the original brick water cistern. The 6,600-gallon cistern will collect rain water and supply water for the mansion's gardens. "One day down the road, we're thinking about putting a grey water system in, too. It'll save us a lot of money, and it will save a lot of water as well, so it's nice to reuse the stuff that's already on here," Executive Director Gareth Evans said. "Old technology being used again and we're very pleased to do that."
