StarNews: Pender shooting leads to wreck

By F.T. Norton

PENDER COUNTY, NC -- A man who reportedly fired shots inside his Pender County house about 11:30 a.m. Thursday, was critically injured when he wrecked his motorcycle in an attempt to escape police , officials said.

Pender County Sheriff’s Capt. Billy Sanders said officers were called out to the home on Sloop Point Loop Road after Frank Johnson, 44, allegedly got into an argument with his girlfriend and fired shots inside the house. Sanders said no one was shot and it didn’t appear the weapon was pointed at anyone. When police got the house, they got the  description of Johnson’s motorcycle and went to look for him.
