Not a good idea. Some cities disallow it even with sprinkler systems. It's been said that these trees are almost impossible to fire retard. Keep in mind one live tree is dangerous, numerous are insanity. But if it's going to stay as is, the following precautions should be taken:
A journal should be kept by a person of competence, i.e., fire marshall, fireman, or person with a certificate of fitness with regard to fire safety and also such person should be on the scene when the building is open and occupied. He should also take a daily mark in the journal that all fire exits are unlocked and clear of obstruction(s). The sprinkler system is kept on and in good working order and whatever other precautions are necessary for said premises.
