CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) -- Carolina Beach Town Council is one step closer to filling the gaps in town leadership.
Council has compiled a list of 16 candidates for the two open spots on the board.
The town manager and mayor positions are also vacant.
Mayor Pro-Tem Steve Shuttleworth says there is a 50-50 chance the mayor could be one of the current board members.
"I don't think the three of us have determined if one of the three of us wants to ask to be the mayor of if two of us want to appoint one of us as the mayor," said Shuttleworth.
The council hopes to fill all the open positions at next Tuesday's meeting.
