WPD looks to hook fishing rod bandit

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Police hope to hook the person who broke in and stole 30 fishing reels from a Wilmington business.

The thefts happened around 5:50 a.m., November 20 at Tex's Tackle and Bait at 215 Old Eastwood Road. Police say someone forced open the front door, then went behind the sales counter and removed 30 Penn and Shimano brand fishing reels. It appears the thief was in the store for less than a minute.

The thief was wearing a blue toboggan cap with a white T-shirt wrapped around his face. He also was wearing black pants, black shoes, black gloves and a multi-colored sweatshirt or jacket.
