Calabash couple charged with running pot grow house


BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) -- A Calabash couple is in jail charged with running a marijuana growing operation in their home.

Brunswick County Sheriff's narcotics agents arrested Lee David Foster, 40, and Melissa Marie Foster, 37, for maintaining a dwelling to keep and sell a controlled substance and other drug crimes.

Investigators say the couple ran the operation from their house at at 1088 Clubview Lane in Calabash.

Deputies seized 38 marijuana plants ranging in size from approximately two inches to more than two feet in height. They also seized various drug paraphernalia and equipment used to plant, grow and manufacture marijuana, including lights and irrigation equipment.

The Fosters are in jail each under $10,000 secured bond.
