LAKE WACCAMAW, NC (WWAY) -- Veteran girls basketball coach Karlyn Stephens has resigned from East Columbus High School in order to accept a job at Southeastern Community College. Stephens will coach the softball team at SECC. She'll also be a physical education instructor. Karlyn Stephens will stay at East Columbus through the end of December before moving on to SECC.

CHARLOTTE, NC (AP) -- Stephen Curry put on a show for his hometown fans Monday night, finishing with 27 points, seven assists and seven rebounds to lead the surging Golden State Warriors to a 104-96 win over the struggling Charlotte Bobcats.

Curry, who grew up in Charlotte and made a name for himself leading nearby Davidson College to the brink of the Final Four in 2008, shot 10 of 22 from the field and hit four 3-pointers. It was his eighth straight 20-point game, a career best.

David Lee had 25 points and 11 rebounds for the Warriors (14-7), who have won seven of their past eight games.

Kemba Walker scored 24 points and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist added 17 to lead the Bobcats, who have lost eight straight since beginning the season 7-5.

FOXBOROUGH,MA (AP) - Tom Brady threw for four touchdowns and New England routed Houston 42-14 on Monday night for the Patriots' seventh straight victory.

The Patriots (10-3), who already own the AFC East title, moved one game behind the Texans (11-2) for the conference's top seed and snapped Houston's six-game winning streak.

Brady had scoring passes of 7 and 4 yards to Aaron Hernandez and 37 to Brandon Lloyd in the first half, and 67 yards to Donte' Stallworth in the third quarter.

New England has won 20 straight December home games. Houston, which has clinched at least a wild-card berth, leads Indianapolis by two games in the AFC South and plays the Colts twice in the final three weeks of the season.
