I didn't hear anyone complain about it. This is a story because it shows someone who has compassion for his fellow man and doing something to make their jobs a little bit easier. Your job in a hotel doesn't compare to what these men and women do. You may have sacrificed your holidays, but you weren't putting your life at risk by putting on the uniform of a police officer. My father chose to work at GE, but that didn't make it any easier for him to have to work on the holidays. He was working on the emergency crew in 1989 during the big snow. Although he chose the assignment, that wouldn't have made missing Christmas with his family any easier.
